Tasting notes: It is of ruby red colour. It has ripe fruit scents, especially sour cherry, plum and berries. It is full and strong on the palate, quite fresh and with good tannins. It is persistent.

Matching: It is perfect with first dishes, especially with meat sauce, but also with lamb andgrilled and roast red meat.

Winery: Le Poggette farm is 450 acres wide, 18 of them are dedicated to vines; it is located in the hills of Montecastrilli and San Gemini.

Why we like Umbria Montepulciano Igt “Torre Maggiore” 2010 - Le Poggette: it is obtained from grapes harvested at the end of October. The wine ages in barrels more than 18 months before being bottled. Thus, it is refined in bottles and finally sold. It is a wine of remarkable elegance, it is savoury and it expresses the extraordinary vine it comes from.
